WORSHIP AND MEDITATION ON CAMPUS

This page lists worship, prayer, and meditation places on the Dalhousie University and King's College campuses during the academic year. The King's College Chapel is located on the King's campus, and the Newman Centre Chapel is across the street on Coburg Road opposite the King's College gate. However, rooms and spaces for worship and prayer are also assigned at Dalhousie's Student Union Building. There is a prayer room located in the "B" Building of the Sexton Campus near the gymnasium.

Christian — Christian Meditation
Location: Multifaith Centre, Chaplain Mehlman's office
Date and Time: Thursdays at noon
A time of quiet and Christian meditation in the tradition of Laurence Freeman. After a brief recorded message, we sit in silence for twenty minutes.

Christian — Morning Prayer at The Newman Centre
Location: St. Joseph's Newman Centre at 6345 Coburg Road
Date and Time: Tuesday to Thursday
An hour of silent prayer begins at 7:45, which is followed by Morning Prayer (Liturgy of the Hours) at 8:45. The prayer time concludes with the praying of the Rosary and the Benediction.

Christian — Prayer and Reflection
Location: Multifaith Centre, Meeting Room
Date and Time: Tuesdays at noon

Christian — Roman Catholic Confessions
Location: Newman Centre and Dalhousie Multifaith Centre
Date and Time: Fridays at 11 am and 2 pm
Fridays from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at the Newman Centre Office. Confessions also at the Dalhousie Multifaith Centre at 1321 Edward Street from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Christian — Roman Catholic Daily Mass
Location: St. Joseph's Newman Centre at 6345 Coburg Road
Date and Time: Tuesday through Friday at Noon

Multifaith — Dalhousie Multifaith Quiet Room
Location: Multifaith Centre, 1321 Edward Street at University Avenue
Date and Time: Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4:00 pm
This space is available throughout the day for individual and small-group prayer and meditation unless reserved for communal prayer. See the schedule posted on door of the Quiet Room.

Multifaith — Quiet Room in the Killam Library
Location: Room 3105 in the Killam Library
Date and Time: During the open hours of the Killam Library
A Quiet Room is available for all people throughout the day and evening.

Multifaith — Multifaith Prayer on the Sexton Campus
Location: Room J126A in the "J" Building in the Sexton Gymnasium
Date and Time: Open daily and evenings
A room for use of all faiths which is available whenever the Sexton buildings are open.

Muslim — Islamic Prayer on Campus
Location: Dalhousie SUB
Date and Time: Fridays at 1 pm
The Islamic community gathers to pray at 1 pm throughout the year. The room is posted at the Information Desk.
